Too Much...

What is going on?? My former high school teacher and advisor Jon Hirsch recently brought to my attention the disturbing snuggie with a baby hole in the center.  And now Snuggies that say "Snugg Life?"  I thought it was bad when I saw Snuggies for dogs at Bed Bath & Beyond the other day.  Someone needs to put a stop to this.  I'm thinking about returning mine...

Lots of Random

(OPI Russian Navy, my new favorite color)

Haven't updated in a while- sorry to everyone that has been complaining!

It has been snowing like crazy here in Saratoga- enough to cancel my dance final and let me lay in bed watching Glee all afternoon!  If you still have not watched Glee you have to start now. Fox.com has most of the episodes.
I'm going to Marthas Vinyard for the weekend so if anyone has any suggestions on places/restaurants please let me know!

SNUGGLES

I almost threw up back in September when I found out that the Snuggie company was hosting a fashion show during New York Fashion Week.  I thought this idea was just as horrendous as it was hilarious.  Now, three months later, I own a hot pink Snuggie...
For the colder months here in Saratoga the Snuggie has come in handy especially on cozy nights when we stay in!

Hot Hot Heat

As most of you know, yoga has been a big part of my life since high school. To everyones surprise I have never taken a hot yoga or Bikram class.  The idea of being in a steaming hot room (105°) with sweaty, smelly people turns me off.  It wasn't until last week when a friend of mine raved about the new Hot Yoga Saratoga studio that I considered trying this crazy workout.  SO I went last week- INTENSE!
Although the heat proved to be a struggle, the strength and flexibility it gave me was addicting.  I've already been back twice!

If you enjoy seriously sweating and gaining mind-body connections from exercise I would recommend trying hot yoga.  It's crucial to drink a TON of water before and not eat for about 3 hours prior to the workout.  Enjoy!

Burberry

Scott Schuman is the creative genius behind one of my favorite blogs, The Satorialist. Burberry recently gave him the opportunity to travel around the world photographing real people in Burberry trench coats.  My favorite looks are with the children.  Fun and stylish!

Hidden Talent

Caroline, a 21 year old English major at Skidmore, has a secret passion for poetry. It all started a few months back when she wrote a poem titled "Ode to Emma," a tribute to our friendship. Parts 2,3,4, & 5 followed. One day I will post the Ode to Emma series. For now, I have come across a well written and meaningful poem for children written by Caroline.

Penelope at the Park

Penelope Russell
Is my best friend
We live on lake Tuscle
Where the blue doesn't end.

Penelope Russell loves to eat
She plays lots of sports
She doesn't like feet.

One day we went to the park
Penelope and me.
We swang on the swings,
We climbed a small tree.

All of a sudden
We heard a strange noise
We thought it might be a cat
Or some unruly boys.

Lo and behold
A stranger emerged from the bushes.
We jumped out of the tree
And fell on our tushes.

The man said "hey"
To Penelope and me
"What are you girls doing
up in that big tree?"

Like our mommies taught us
We said not a word
We made no sort of raucous
And were in no way absurd.

The stranger stepped forward
Stepping one, two, and three
So we ran and ran toward
My daddy, Billy.

Penelope Russell is still my best friend
We don't talk to strangers
We stay safe til the end.

So remember to stay close
To a grown-up at the park
Look both ways on the street
And don't go out in the dark!

Brilliant, Caroline!
